About Screen (USA)
Screen (USA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyoto, Japan-based Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Co., Ltd., is a leading supplier of systems and components for the graphic arts industry. From its centrally located headquarters facility outside Chicago, Screen (USA) provides complete sales, parts and service through sales representatives and dealer networks in principal geographic areas. Its diverse line of integrated products includes workflow management solutions, thermal platesetters, imagesetters, digital printing systems, flatbed scanners, hybrid AM/FM screening technology, color proofing applications and digital asset management software. Screen technology benefits commercial printers, packaging printers, newspaper publishers, trade shops, in-plants and service bureaus in every state, plus Canada and all of Latin America.
Truepress Jet520 full-color, variable data inkjet printer
Screen’s continuous-feed, single-pass inkjet printer allows users to lay out documents, vary images and change colors to print personalized materials, aided by front-end applications linked to customer databases. The Truepress Jet520 handles paper widths from 6.4 inches to 20.4 inches, printing at the rate of 209.9 feet per minute at 720 dpi x 360 dpi. The roll-fed paper feeding system gives users the flexibility to handle high-speed and high-volume print runs.
Truepress 344 four-color, direct imaging press
The Truepress 344 features on-press plate imaging, processless thermal plates and digital wet offset printing. It has a maximum sheet size of 13.4 x 18.5 inches, with a top speed of 7,000 sheets per hour for printing business cards, envelopes, four-color postcards, flyers, brochures and posters. Plates can be imaged at 2,400 dpi resolution using screen rulings up to 175 lpi.
Spekta 2 next-generation hybrid screening
Spekta 2, Screen’s hybrid screening method based on 12-bit screening technology, delivers image detail comparable to line screens of 350 lpi or higher without changing from conventional prepress and pressroom conditions for normal 175 lpi printing. Spekta 2 increases color control by eliminating banding, moiré and jagged lines, ensuring smooth, detailed printing reproductions. Screens are output at 2,400 dpi with no loss of productivity.
Trueflow Rite TP workflow management system
Trueflow Rite TP provides automated workflow management necessary to guarantee the best performance from the Truepress 344. Trueflow Rite TP features PDF-based RIP operation, trapping and other basic workflow functions. It easily handles standard PDF data files. Imposed PDF and PostScript data can be used in job files. For output-ready jobs, operators can use Trueflow Rite TP’s hot folders to create fully automated workflow paths. For more information: www.screenusa.com.

About Tintbooks
Graphic Designers, Ad Agencies, Printers and Publishers are in agreement that Tintbook sets a new CMYK color standard for everyone involved in the Graphic Design Industry. Tintbook creates a communication tool for color management from start to finish for all printing projects. College and University Art Departments are already working with Tintbook in Graphic Art Students’ classroom sessions.
What are Tintbooks
The Tintbook CMYK Solution achieves predictable color results for printing projects at the design concept stage. With over 25,000 CMYK color formulas contained in each volume, you choose the identical CMYK combinations for Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Quark Xpress. The CMYK formulas are printed under the same conditions as an actual offset printed sheet. In other words, ‘what you see is what you get.’ Digital proofs cannot accurately predict CMYK color results. The computer screen cannot reproduce ink colors. Only a printed sheet can match the final results for your printed project. That is what Tintbook is all about!
Tintbook Coated

Tintbook Coated is printed on an archival, coated stock especially chosen for its mid-range of brightness. Working with Tintbook gives you the color management tools you need to get accurate results for print projects. Everyone who works in the Graphic Arts Industry will appreciate the special pastel sections, the viewing condition information and printing tips contained in this Volume of Tintbook.
Tintbook Uncoated

Printing on Uncoated Paper can be challenging. Print projects can achieve a distinct look by printing on Uncoated Paper. Tintbook Uncoated discusses issues about color matching from Digital art file - to proofs - to printing on Uncoated Paper. Using Tintbook Uncoated can decrease confusion about color matching. Special sections contain pastel combinations and printed comparisons between several Uncoated Sheets - plus - how color changes when printing on Uncoated vs. Coated Paper.
