WD40 Announces Graphic Arts Initiative, Seeks Dealers
April 1, 2004 -- Officials at WD40 Corporation announced that they plan an aggressive move into the printing and graphic arts industries. Spokesperson Adam Eizer said, "Our research indicates that there is a significant amount of equipment that has been idle for some time, and is just starting to come back into use as the economy improves. These situations tend to be great markets for us, as our products combat the effects of rust and disuse."
The company said that dealers are necessary partners for its aggressive move. "We're anxious to get going, hoping to find strategic relationships to deal with what we expect will be strong demand." The company will offer WD40 in convenient spray cans, but will also offer it in 55-gallon drums. "It's an amazing product. It can literally get things moving again." Eizer stated that "getting things moving again" was originally their campaign slogan, but officials at Metamucil, Inc. got wind of it and threatened a lawsuit. Such litigation would have taken years, so the company changed its plans. "Even WD40 can't get the wheels of justice going, it seems," he stated, wryly. The campaign slogan will be "It's never stuck on press if you use WD40." Special Note: All these stories are presented in the true spirit of April Fool's Day.
