Editor's Note: We had a big backlog of photos and some still coming in from our writers who attended GE. They will all be up by publication Thursday, October 26.

Thanks for sharing the photos.
Hey-where's some photos of the Fujifilm booth? We had a major booth this year.
Also: I think one of the most exciting/new hardware at Graph Expo '06 has been overlooked by your staff: Paste ink dispensers. There were several at the show this year. Print shop owners save tens of thousands of dollars each year by putting in computerized PMS ink dispensers for their sheetfed and web shops.
I helped display our 'CD-14A' ink dispenser at the Fujifilm booth. The CD-14A was the most robust of all the ink units at Graph Expo, and was the subject of much excitement at our booth! Ours features proprietary software running on a standard 'Windows XP' platform. The dispenser is accurate to within 1/100 of a gram. By incorporating the (optional) Spectro unit, our customers can perfectly match custom/corporate colors supplied by their clients. We had Toyo blending inks in our unit at Graph Expo. The unit at the show can dispense as little as .25 pounds, up to 30 pounds.
Ink companies (especially smaller local dealers) are wary of this new technology, since it reduces or eliminates the dependancy of print shop owners on ink dealers. This is similiar to what happened when print shop owners started outputting their own film to make plates.
Clearly, ink dispensing is the 'way of the future'. There were several ink units at Graph Expo, but I haven't found a single mention of them in your columns.
I have photos and technical data available if you'd like more information.
Thanks for your time, and your excellent publication.
Thank You,
John Burkett
