WhatTheyThink.com Expands Online Media Reach with the Acquisition of PrintPlanet.com Forums

Now more than 55,000 subscribers can choose from the printing and publishing industry’s largest selection of online media.

Lexington, KY, and Solana Beach, CA – February 26, 2007 - WhatTheyThink.com, the leading online media organization serving the printing and publishing industries, today announced the acquisition of the PrintPlanet.com hosted discussion forums and e-communities from Printable Technologies Inc. Terms of the agreement were not released.

“Without debate, PrintPlanet.com is the industry’s leading forum community and a natural fit for us. Forum members – located on every continent in the world – exchange between 1.5 and 2.5 million messages every month,” said Randy Davidson, CEO/President, WhatTheyThink.com. “Combining WhatTheyThink.com’s content and PrintPlanet.com’s discussion forums expands our content and media offerings for more than 55,000 industry members.”

Printable Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of workflow and VDP software solutions for the printing industry, acquired PrintPlanet.com in 2001. “PrintPlanet.com has become a virtual institution in the industry and we are proud to have played a role in the success of the forums,” said Coleman Kane, CEO/President, Printable Technologies. “For WhatTheyThink.com to take over PrintPlanet.com is a positive strategic move for Printable Technologies and allows us to focus more squarely on our workflow and software products. WhatTheyThink.com and PrintPlanet.com make a perfect match.”

David Mainwaring, who created the first forum for CTP users on PrintPlanet.com in 1996 and who has been instrumental in the development of the forums, will join WhatTheyThink.com as managing director of WTT PrintPlanet.com eCommunities. “WhatTheyThink.com has been a valuable partner with PrintPlanet.com over the years,” said Mainwaring. “Now, these two premier web communities will join to strengthen the industry’s most important online resource.”
