April 7, 2008 -- Lexington, Kentucky USA -- WhatTheyThink.com today announced the opportunity for industry professionals to attend a free printing industry educational webinar, which will offer an expert view on market growth, trends and future directions for the print-on-demand industry. Why Digital? Why Now?, led by industry expert Barbara A. Pellow, Director of the Business Development and Custom Communications Services for research firm InfoTrends, is sponsored by the Business Solutions Division of Canon Canada Inc. and presented in conjunction with NAPL. "In this session on the opportunities in the print-on-demand market, Pellow will share InfoTrends research and her significant industry expertise," said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink.  "Print-on-demand is - and has for some time been - driving change and growth in the printing industry. This session will highlight important trends and information every print service provider should be aware of as they plan the future of their businesses.  We are pleased that Canon Canada has chosen to sponsor this important educational event, allowing us to bring it to our audience free of charge."

Pellow has proven to be one of WhatTheyThink's most popular webinar hosts, with hundreds of printing executives regularly attending her webinars and accessing the archived material for later review. She will provide an overview of the print-on-demand market during the session by:

  • Defining the market, from quick-turnaround, short run, digital printing in production environments to targeted, custom, or fully-personalized messages delivered through cross-media programs;
  • Illustrating how print on demand product and service developments are changing the printing market; and
  • Providing an expert view on market growth, trends, and future directions.

"Print on demand has gone mainstream," said Pellow.  "It represented a more than $53 billion market in 2007 in North America and is delivering double digit growth. During this session, we will provide attendees with a solid understanding of the concepts, trends, products, and services that drive this growing market."

Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio streamed via computer.
