HP and WhatTheyThink Present “Variable Data Printing: It’s All About the Data”

Sound Advice for Better Data Management Practices

May 12th, 2008 -- Lexington, Kentucky USA -- WhatTheyThink.com today announced the opportunity for industry professionals to attend a free printing industry educational webinar. Variable Data Printing: It’s All About the Data, which will be led by industry expert Barbara A. Pellow, Group Director of Production Services for research firm InfoTrends.  Sponsored by the HP Capture Business Success Program, the event will be held Wednesday, May 21st, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EDT (-4 GMT).

No-charge registration is available here.

“Data management can be the most difficult and daunting aspect of variable data printing for most graphic communications service providers,” said Pellow. “The success of a campaign is contingent upon not only the quality of the data, but also on how well that data is organized and followed up on.  During this session, I will be joined by experts who have successfully leveraged and managed data to develop and execute effective campaigns. Their advice and guidance will include tips and hints that will benefit all attendees, even those who are already more sophisticated.”

Pellow will be joined by:

  • Todd Cober, Vice President of Sales, Cober Printing. Cober is an active fourth generation member of a family owned and operated printing company with a bachelor of technology degree.  He consults with customers in the development of digital solutions and applications.
  • Erwin Driever, Vice President of Technology, Cober Printing Limited.  Driever combines more than 20 years of experience and expertise in print communications. He has acquired a wealth of knowledge and capabilities relating to digital prepress, workflow, automation and digital print technologies, including developing and implementing JDF based workflows and dynamic web-to-print solutions.
  • Martin Saavedra, Jr., Director of Sales, MLI Integrated Graphic Solutions.  Since 2005, MLI has leveraged database marketing tactics with direct mail services, providing measuring and customer feedback systems through its In Touch Program.
  • Jim Gabalski, Director of Strategy Services, Emerge Partners.  Emerge Partners is a New York City based Direct Marketing firm that utilizes analytics driven insights to develop and implement highly targeted multi-channel marketing campaigns.  With over 20 years of technical development, sales, marketing, and management experience, Gabalski brings depth of understanding to Emerge Partners’ clients that helps them tackle some of their most difficult data-driven marketing challenges.

“We always hear that lack of clean data and the ability to adequately mine it has been a barrier to the growth of the variable data printing market,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “During this session, that misconception will be put to rest, as we hear from companies who have clearly experienced significant success and business growth as a result of their ability to manage the data.  We appreciate the fact that HP’s Capture Business Success Program is sponsoring this important session, allowing us to make it available at no charge.”

Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio streamed via computer.
