Lean Manufacturing for the Printing Industry to Be Discussed in WhatTheyThink Webinar Sponsored by HP
Provocative Session Will Challenge Thinking on Efficient Print Production
October 7, 2008 -- Lexington, Kentucky USA --
WhatTheyThink.com today announced the opportunity for industry professionals to
attend a free printing industry educational webinar. Lean Manufacturing: A Key to Profitability, which will be led
by industry expert Barbara A. Pellow, Group Director of Production Services for
research firm InfoTrends. Sponsored by the HP Capture
Business Success Program, the event will be held Wednesday, October 22nd,
from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EDT (-4 GMT).
No-charge registration is available here.
“Lean manufacturing strategies focus on avoiding and eliminating
the seven wastes—defective products, overproduction, excessive
work-in-process inventory, over-processing, unnecessary movement of people,
unnecessary movement of products, and waiting,” said Pellow. “Our aim in this session is to provide
a primer on lean manufacturing for the printing industry, backed up by
significant expertise and hands-on experience that will provide actionable
information our attendees can put to use right away.”
Pellow will be joined by Jerry
McCormick, a well-known consultant and printing industry expert in Lean
Manufacturing; and Bob Radzis, CEO of RT Associates,
a McCormick client who has significantly benefited from deploying lean
manufacturing strategies in his business.
“As we head into an increasingly
confused economic environment, it is more critical than ever before for
printing businesses of all sizes to closely examine their manufacturing
processes to ensure the utmost efficiency,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “This session will not only define what is
meant by Lean Manufacturing, but will provide real-world advice and guidance on
how to get started in your own business. We appreciate the fact that HP’s Capture
Business Success Program is sponsoring this important session, allowing us to
make it available at no charge.”
Attendees will be able to participate in a live question and
answer session to get the most from the experience and will be able to view and
listen to the presentation using a standard Internet browser with audio
streamed via computer.
