WhatTheyThink Offers Advice on Making Money in Tough Times during Free Web Session, Sponsored by Press-sense

Managing an Efficient Digital Workflow Cited as Key to Reducing Costs, Extracting Higher Margins

October 15, 2008 -- Lexington, Kentucky USA -- WhatTheyThink.com recently conducted a free printing industry educational webinar.  Managing an Efficient Digital Workflow: Making Money in Tough Times. The session, which is part of WhatTheyThink’s ongoing webinar series, was led by industry expert Barbara A. Pellow, Group Director of Production Services for research firm InfoTrends and sponsored by Press-sense.

The webinar archive is available here.

“Perhaps more than any other time in the past, print service providers must focus on removing cost from their operations by improving productivity and increasing automation,” said Randy Davidson, President, WhatTheyThink. “We encourage print service providers who were not able to attend this important session live to take the time to review the archive and benefit from the insight provided by our experts.”

Pellow was joined by Henry Wagner, a pioneer in web-to-print who is currently the Information Technology Manager for Innovation Printing in Philadelphia.  He has been involved in web-to-print implementation since 1999.  Additionally, attendees heard from Matt Fumerton, Director of Strategic Accounts for Press-sense.  Fumerton also has extensive experience with companies who have successfully e-enabled their businesses. He will discuss the strategic importance of end-to-end automation of both production and business processes, and the impact on profitability that can result.

“Both print service providers and buyers of print benefit from a streamlined digital workflow,” said Pellow.  “Especially in challenging economic times, an Internet-enabled business model is critical for both buyers and sellers.  Our speakers highlighted both the benefits and the how-to’s.  Our session also included new InfoTrends research results that reinforce the messages delivered by our speakers. In addition, we highlighted many recession-proof products that print service providers can offer via the Web in an automated fashion.”
